Back To Reality

Adam and I came back a week ago and we are still strugling with coming back to reality. LOL. We are glad to be back though. We had a great time on our cruise. We made a couple of great friends. Now that we are back we are consuming our selves with house chores. We have our cabanets in and in a few months we will have our counter tops in. We are about to start painting which will be a fun project. Well that's about all that's going on with us. Hope everyone is doing great.

What a Merry Christmas it was

I hope that everyone had a very merry Christmas. Adam and I went to Tom and Debi's house (Adam's parents) for Christmas Eve and Day. We had so much fun. Christmas Eve we had a few friends over from the ward and Melissa and Phill were down from UT. We are so glad that we got to challenge them to a little Mario Cart while they were here.... lol. (Phill said he lost to me because he couldn't see through the glasses that his character was wearing... I think it was because of all the dust I was leaving in his face. LOL) Anyway... We had a great dinner, played a game where you pass presents to a story, and then we read Luke and watched a Church Christmas movie. Christmas day was just as fun filled. We ate breakfast and opened presents. Then we went to a friend of the family's house for lunch/dinner. Which was another great meal. There were more games being played. We love that we have such great family and friends to share the holidays with.
Well it's only 7 days til we fly out to go on our cruise for 14days so you probably won't hear from me until we get back with will be about the 18th or 19 of Jan. I hope that everyone has a Happy (and safe) New Year. Bye for now.

More Moving

Yesterday, we got to see Sherie' and David and the boy's. It was great but they weren't here for a social visit. They were here on a mission.... MISSION: GET GRANDMA'S STUFF MOVED TO PROVO
Yeah so Grandma has A LOT of stuff and the mission was mostly successful... Except there is still MORE stuff to move. Adam and I went over to help for a couple of hours. Packed the 16ft truck wall to wall, floor to ceiling. Thankfully Adam knows a thing or two about packing (as well he should for moving 7 times in 4 years).
As for our moving.... We got everything moved in. A big thank you to Mom & Dad Carley, and Rob Stevens who all helped us in the cold and rainy weather. That only took us a few hours to get it all done. The hard part that Adam and I are facing is where to put everything. We have all this space and have no idea where to put things because we have a fear that we will put something somewhere and forget where we put it, and then we will have to search the whole house. Right now we really don't have much of a kitchen because the upper cabinets were stolen before we put the offer in. It's ok though because whoever took them did me the favor of ripping them out. Let just say that the cabinets are my least favorite thing about the house. We picked out the replacement cabinets which look so much better. Now we just have to decide on a counter top and back splash. Thank goodness Melissa will be here this week. Hopefully she can help us with this very overwhelming task. What do ya say Melissa? Are you up for the challenge?
We did run into an issue with our dryer. We bought a nice washer and dryer set not even a year ago when we were living in Salt Lake. Well, when you buy there just about everything is electric. It is the opposite here in Vegas, everything is gas. So we looked into having the plug rewired and we were told that it would cost a minimum of $400 just for that, plus the money we would be paying on the energy bill.... we decided that we would just go buy a new dryer. No they don't match, no they aren't even the same brand, but hey sometimes you do what you gotta do. It's a dryer to dry my clothes. I am however very thankful to Best Buy who gave us a great deal on the dryer because it was an 'out of the box' special.
On another note.... Today was the first Sunday for us attending our new ward. It is BIG compared to some other wards that we have attended. There are A LOT of kids which means LARGE primary and nursery. Crap! This really isn't looking good for us as far as callings go. Everyone was very nice and very welcoming. We are excited to become more involved with our ward family since we will be in this ward for a little while.

Our House

So it is offical! We have our house! We got the keys this morning. I can't believe it... we have a place to call our own..... It ONLY took 5 months. We are hoping to move in this weekend. Now the 'TO DO' list just got really long. OR should I say mostly Adams 'TO DO' list. LOL. J/K.

Phantom of the Opera

So last week, the day before Thanksgiving, I was working and Adam had the day off. I talked to Adam on my short break and he told me that he would have a surprise for me when I got home. Well, I was so busy at work that I didn't even have time to give it a second thought. I got home and on the counter there were some beautiful red roses and a card. In it Adam asked me if I would join him for a night at Phantom of the Opera. It was so cute! We got ready and went to the Venetian. The show was AMAZING! I loved it! It was a great night. Definitely one to remember.

The House

Hey everyone! We have finally heard on the house. There are still plenty of places that this could still fall through but at this point we are hopeful. We have ordered the appraisal and that should be done on Monday the 23rd. At this point we are being told that we will be able to close for sure by Dec. 4th. But they are shooting to have it closed by Nov. 30th. We will keep you posted on what's up with it.
By the way, for the record.... Buying a house is so stressful!
